W/M (weight or measurement) is how LCL sea freight is priced: per cubic metre or per 1000 kg, whichever is higher. One W/M is one 'revenue ton'.
At sea, 1 cubic metre is treated as equal to 1000 kg. Most LCL shipments are light for their size, so the volume usually decides.
Example: 3 pallets of 2.4 m³ in total, 900 kg → 2.4 W/M. The same pallets at 3000 kg → 3.0 W/M. Most carriers charge a minimum of 1 W/M.
