Tips from our desk

  • Buy FOB instead of CIF: you control the freight, the transit and the cost at destination.
  • Know your HS codes before the goods ship. They decide the import duty and any anti-dumping duty.
  • Importing steel, aluminium, cement or fertiliser? CBAM applies above 50 tonnes per year from 2026.

Questions

How long does sea freight from China to the Netherlands take?

About 6–7 weeks port to port in 2026, because most carriers sail around the Cape of Good Hope. Add a few days for pickup, customs and delivery. Your quote states the exact schedule.

FCL or LCL from China?

Below roughly 13–15 m³, LCL is usually cheaper. Above that, a full container. We calculate both.

Which costs do I pay on import?

Freight, destination handling, import duty (per HS code), import VAT and delivery. With an Article 23 licence you can defer the import VAT. Our quote lists everything.

Cargo to move? We handle it.

All-in price and transit time, usually the same day.
